Good Friday!

Have you ever experienced God?

It has been a bizarre question to me for quite a while. I hold Reason in high esteem but do we not believe electricity exists just because we can't see/smell/hear/taste nor touch it?

Galatians 5:22-23 [But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.] spoke to me in an "ah-hah!" moment so intense, it strengthened my faith that God is working His miracles. =)

All things work together for good to those who love God - Romans 8:28 I shall trust and be patient.

A part of Good Friday was spent like Food Friday. Learned I've developed a rather discerning palate for food and keen perception for service through the years. But I'm not a snob - hawker food can also fit both criteria. =P Also learned that I draw energy from good people and quality conversations. Need to seek more of that!

Operation Z!NG- Success!

After plenty of 4am stay-in-office work nights and 7am mornings, my colleagues have declared that 我 “已经成仙了-又不吃,又不睡,又不动!” Lol. But 2 days ago, my darlings sprung me a surprise (and I literally fell headwards into it by calling them at the time they were here!) with food, their presence, and just a warm bucket (heck, pool!) of love. =)

It's true when they say that "True wealth is family, friends and health".

It's also true that there's a reason why you have 2 hands - One to help yourself, the others to help others. And the best- to put both hands together to pray. =)

Live Like You're Dying - Who do you think of when you hear this song?

Live Like We're Dying Lyrics

Sometimes we fall down, can't get back up
We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say I love you enough
Till it's to late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
And we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you,
What would you wish you would've done

Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying

[ Chorus: // We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying //
]

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
So when we long for absolution,
There'll no one on the line, yeah

Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying

[Chorus]

Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying..

[Chorus]

You never know a good thing till it's gone
You never see a crash till it's head on
Why do we think we're right when we're dead wrong
You never know a good thing till it's gone

Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying

[Chorus]

Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying..

I don't like tofu

Photobucket

So...Guy in question emailed me today, telling me the following:

"My stomach is in knots with no appetite, my mood is very bland and down, and I can't think straight. Unfortunately, this is how I know my feelings for you are very real. I would not be feeling this way if I did not care deeply for you!"

He asked to meet up, to discuss. I'm a big softie (like tofu!) and I know that a typical me would have crumbled and tried to make the guy feel better. But I think it's a lesson I have to learn (and the same lessons truly keep happening to you until you learn them) that you can't take care of everyone's problems, and you just have to stand firm. As much as I don't believe in making one-party decisions, I think this is a call I have to make and trust that it's the best one for the both of us.

Love and Life

"A woman is like a christmas tree - the value plunges after the 25th", says Faith, half jokingly. She's 30 now, a strong Christian single who reminds me of God's providence, and of not taking matters into my own hands. I've learned that life is like a deck of cards - opportunities are presented in decisions that you make, be they big or small. You win some, you lose some. The question is, how do you play this game? What should you do to make the experience count?

Having someone in your life can really change things. But then do you adapt and change? Or do you stick with what makes you you? How do you make someone feel happy? I believe in the lost values of modesty, purity and sincerity, of honoring God and my future mate. But the narrow path (Matthew 7:13) can be tough and lonely. By faith, I believe that true love... waits.

Barry

I got to know Barry today... unexpectedly, on a website, can you imagine? But sometimes, the best things are found when you least expect it, in the strangest of places. Can't wait to see how our relationship evolves.. :)
